Kids run through the multi-spout fountain on the big public plaza between General Motors’ headquarters and the river’s edge. There’s music. People on the many benches and ledges eat lunch, read, make phone calls and type briskly.Purposeful walkers, sightseers and strollers mix all along the RiverWalk from downstream (west) of Joe Louis Arena to the Rivard Plaza upstream (east) of the RenCen. Fishing is fine. And hey, that’s another country right across the water.
Yes, that’s the Detroit side of the Detroit River as it starts to mirror the park on the Windsor side. The RiverWalk is now partially complete and you can walk from Joe Louis Arena past Hart Plaza up the river past the Renaissance Center. From the Free Press.
