One man is looking to boost the pride of people who live and work in the Toledo area, or what he calls “The best of Lake Erie West”, and he is doing it in the pages of a new magazine.

There is more to see inside “In Toledo.” The monthly magazine has a planned circulation of 30,000 and is free at newsstands, but you can also subscribe to have it delivered to your home for a small fee.

General Motor sales in China to hit one million vehicles

General Motors Corp said it expects to sell more than a million vehicles in China for the first time ever this year, chief financial officer Fritz Henderson has said.

Henderson, during a presentation to securities analysts, said Chinese demand for new vehicles is up 21 pct and should top 8.4 mln units in 2007, a four-fold increase from the 2 mln vehicles sold in 2001.

Univision Relocates its Headquarters to the Legendary Penobscot …

Univision Detroit, Metro Detroit’s
premier Spanish media channel, has moved its headquarters to the downtown
Detroit Penobscot Building, one of “The Downtown Collection’s” most
celebrated addresses.
Univision WUDT Channel 23 Detroit moved from its offices in Troy to
more than 6,000 square feet on the 30th floor of the Penobscot Building in
early July. The space will serve as home base for the local affiliate, its
12 employees and eight future hires, said Univision General Manager Jessica
Pellegrino.
“The Downtown Collection has exceeded our expectations,” Pellegrino
said. “The amazing service that we’ve received and the package of
amenities, such as valet parking, that the Penobscot provides us, were key
reasons we decided to locate our headquarters in Downtown Detroit,” she
said.

Its primary viewers, Metro Detroit’s Hispanic community, has doubled since the 1990
Census, growing from 50,000 to 130,000 in 2003, according to the U.S.
Census 2005 American Community Survey, or about five percent of the Metro
Detroit population.

Windsor goo is a sign of a healthier river

BELLE RIVER, Ont. - The blobs of Belle River aren’t stinging jellyfish but tiny harmless invertebrates called pectinatella magnifica that cluster together to form a hunk of goo up to the size of a basketball.

And their presence is actually a good sign for Lake St. Clair, John Cooper of the Ministry of Natural Resources said yesterday. “It’s a sign of good water quality. They’re intolerant of pollution.”

The Strangest Sights in Google Earth: Virtual Sight-seeing, Advertising, Airplanes

Google Earth doesn’t have advertising, unless you consider the corporate logos and trademarks big enough to be seen from space. This giant Ford logo (Google Earth coordinates 42.302284,-83.231215) is found near (where else?) Detroit, Michigan.
