United States hands Lithuanian 7-year-sentence for human trafficking

A Lithuanian man was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for conspiring to force Eastern European women to work as exotic dancers in Detroit, Michigan strip clubs, the Justice Department said Friday.

“Human trafficking it nothing short of modern-day slavery,” Assistant Attorney General Wan Kim said after the sentence was announced Thursday.

Michail Aronov, 34, and his business partners “smuggled women into the United States and compelled them through threats and coercion to work as dancers in strip clubs, holding them in a condition of involuntary servitude,” the department said in a statement.

The human trafficking network used the guise of a legitimate business, Beauty Search Inc., to cover their criminal conduct, it added.

Ever noticed any Russian or Eastern European girls working at Detroit strip clubs? Michail Aronov of Chicago was tricking Ukrainian girls into coming to the US to work at Cheetah’s On the Strip on 8 Mile Rd. This Cheetah’s is owned by the same people who own the Windsor Cheetah’s and may be part of the same chain as Cheetah’s Las Vegas. I’m not sure who all, if anybody else, knew about these girls about strippers in a club can get awfully competitive so I’m surprised none of them caught on and turned them in. Oh, this is the same strip club where Eminem goes and sometimes gets into fights with Trick Trick there to back him up.
